“Research initiated by Gabriel Cousens, MD, MD(H), DD, and completed by Philip and Susan Madeley, MA, graduates of Cousens’ School of Holistic Wellness, involving 119 vegan children, whose diets comprised an average of 80% live food and 20% vegan cooked food, suggests that a vegan, live-food diet is quite safe. Their vegan parents who ate approximately 80% live food had newborns with an average in the upper 58th percentile for weight. These newborns were in the upper 88th percentile for length, and their body mass index (BMI, comparing weight to height) was in the upper 71st percentile.
Dr. Gabriel Cousens stresses the importance of organic compared to conventional food. The main cause of death and disease among children under 15 is cancer. Gabriel believes this is largely due to the many pesticides and herbicides – with their carcinogens – in processed and conventional grown food.
The advantages of organic foods is highest for babies. The average baby is born with 200 toxins and carcinogens in its body. By the time kids reach their 2nd year, most have pasted the lethal limit for the toxins. By feeding your child organic food, it will have about 1/6th the amount of carcinogens in its body. Thus you will decrease the chances of illnesses significantly.
Kids have way too many sweets and chemicals. Their mental states are very agitated. By now the sweets have pesticides and herbicides. Some research suggests that 50% of the hyperactivity would be reduced, if they had organic food. Put them on an organic and a low sugar diet and look at certain allergies, that may also cause nervous system or cerebral allergies. Hundreds of studies at schools and prisons whereby processed food was replaced by fresh produce proofed that most of the hyperactivity is diminished. Therefore, especially for infants and children a raw organic food diet is incredibly important.
It is comfortably and scientifically to say, with the only study available, that vegan, live-food babies, at least until the first four years (the limits of this study), stay in the top third of the general population in height, weight, and BMI. It’s interesting that this population is heavier than the average population, where children are eating junk food, meat, etc.—an obesity-causing diet. This even more strongly indicates the efficacy of the diet in supporting children’s growth.
The overall data strongly suggests that a long-term, scientifically based, organic, vegan diet is the safest diet for ourselves and our children. As previously mentioned, dietary patterns established between the ages of four and eight are more likely to be maintained over a lifetime. The earlier we start children on a scientifically organized, vegan, organic diet, the higher probability they will have of living longer and healthier, as well as uplifting the overall web of life on the planet.

Some advices for vegan parents
-First off, if you wan to get your kids excited about raw foods, you have to be excited about raw foods yourself. And you need to help them to not only want to eat nuts and dried fruit, but also veggies and salads and dark green leafy vegetables. It’s important that you eat them with passion and enthusiasm yourself.
-Secondly, you need to be educated. You need to know what you are doing. There is a lot you can be doing wrong, especially if you go on a very high raw food diet. Don’t harm your kids by being ignorant about this lifestyle. Get an education. Get online. Get some books. Educate yourself so you know what you’re doing.
-Juicing is recommended because kids will not eat dark green leafy veggies in sufficient amounts. And they need that because it’s the most mineral rich food, and it’s important not to get them demineralized. They need to have dark green leafy veggies in their diet. Also add coconut and coconut water as a natural super food, super-charged with electrolytes and so many nutrients. So coconut water, dark green leafy veggies and, natural super foods.
-And you will have to look into emotional stuff. If you really want to do this long term, food is so often connected with emotional issues, so emotional stuff will come up. You have to look at that and deal with that. If you really want to make the transition, find the reasons to stay and stick with the diet. Make it delicious. Get good recipes in place. Don’t under-eat. If you eat healthy, you don’t have to limit yourself.
I appreciate your support.
